Mental Health Technician- 
Direct Service Provision

Dacotah Foundation provides residential services for individuals experiencing mental health and/or substance use challenges.
Our mental health technicians provides the employee with the opportunity to build trust, rapport, and understanding with individuals with diverse life experiences. Whether this position is an introduction into the human service field, you have personal experience, or you are pursuing a degree in a related field; the individuals we work with contribute to our personal and professional development. If you have a passion to show others they are valued, respected and understood, this would be a great meaningful position.   

Applicants are responsible for monitoring and maintaining a safe living environment.  Some duties include: monitoring medication and vitals; documentation of daily activities, behavior, and symptoms; conflict resolution; teaching activities of daily living; de-escalation technics; and building skills that will minimize syptoms.   Individuals should be personable, empathetic, and understanding toward others. Training is provided. High school diploma or GED and driver's license, with minimal traffic violations, are required. Although it is not required, experience or education in psychology, social work, counseling, or sociology is beneficial. 
The positions are shift work and typically follow a rotation:  Day, Evening and Overnight
There is a pay differential for overnights and weekends.
